xemf and demons!
"Gef, can you hear me?"
"Gef, can you hear me?"
Their communications links were electronics, provided by Miracle, and as such were immune to the antimagical properties of the walls. Gef came in loud (too loud, because it was Gef) and clear.
"Go for Gef," said the poltergeist.
"Remember how I had you reinstate the security system? I'm gonna need to ask you to do it again..."
A pause. The sound of paw scratching head. "But you're still down there, aren't you?"
"Yeah, kinda." Moone continued ducking and weaving around the gargantuan lizard-figure's swipes.
"Alright," said the mongoose, with way too much glee in his voice. There was a hum, and the particles began immediately flowing around again. With the security system back up, the creature Xemf was trapped where Moone needed it. There was still one part of his plan that needed to take effect...
"Oh I'm going to hate this," said Moone. And took the phylactery that he had been keeping, had been going to use to infiltrate the vault... and now broke it over himself.
Kissifer emerged only for as much time as it took him to slip into Moone. Finally, after all these months... the demonic voice whispered, permeating the whole room.
and this part written past midnight but i'm on a roll boy
The floor was now pressure sensitive again... but Moone began floating over it, just as he'd planned in his version of the heist. Xemf backed against a wall, and an alarm sounded as the rebooted security system finally noticed an intruder.
"Right, and there's that," said Moone, his head spinning. (Literally, his head was swiveling around, due to the demonic possession going on inside him at that moment. Soon Kissifer would notice Poo, and they'd probably begin fighting with each other. Not very pleasant on the GI tract at all; Moone had personal experience.)
"Hey, Gef?" Moone asked, beginning to get dizzy as he lost any semblance of a fixed reference point. No wonder where the projectile vomiting came from. "Gef, hey. There's gonna be guards coming; if you could take them out for us while we do this, that'd be great."
Gef made a prolonged, loud, and very intimate sound over the comm. "If you insist," he whimpered after a moment or two.
Xemf lunged at the hovering Moone, leaping from wall to wall, shattering the vaults and scattering teeth and glitter everywhere. Moone was swept back in the airflow of the effort. He tried to ignore Xemf and set his sights now on nabbing the NOC list, as long as they still had it in their sights. He floated into the next room, which was narrower and smaller, and had the grimoire on display at the far end.
It was like the scene where David shuts down HAL in 2001: A Space Odyssey, floating through the narrow room and pulling out the memory centers, only the deep slow chanting voice was uttering something in ancient Sumerian instead of singing Daisy Belle, and the Gorn from Star Trek had also managed to make it onto the ship and was chasing David as he attempted to do it, and also David's head was swiveling around 360 degrees because he was possessed by Pazuzu from the Exorcist. And the walls were made of teeth. But other than that, it was exactly like that; the color scheme was even the same, because of all the blood now flowing down the walls.
